On March 26, 2020, CMS responded to a March 24 request from the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing for waivers of a number of federal Medicaid requirements that pose challenges for the Colorado’s health system and to aid in its ability to respond to the COVID-19 public health emergency. To date, CMS has also granted waivers to 32 states in addition to Colorado (Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Virginia, Washington, and Wyoming).
