OpenAI and its CEO, Sam Altman, were sued by a Florida pastor who accused the company’s chatbot, ChatGPT, of giving him “personalized and inaccurate medical advice” that “brought him to the brink of death.” According to the lawsuit, the 55-year-old man listened to health advice from ChatGPT, which he claims led him to delay seeking medical attention. ChatGPT allegedly said his symptoms were not likely very dangerous, but the pain he felt was actually the beginning of a pulmonary embolism that almost took his life.
