HLB Welcomes Director of GR&PP, Claire Ernst

Washington, D.C. — Hooper, Lundy & Bookman, P.C. (HLB) is excited to announce the addition of Claire Ernst as Director of Government Relations & Public Policy. With a remarkable career advocating for the health care industry, Claire brings a wealth of expertise and a proven record of achievements to the HLB team.

Prior to joining HLB, Claire served as Director of Government Affairs at the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA). Her adept implementation of advocacy strategies and representation of the organization’s interests before Congress and Executive Branch agencies, particularly the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), significantly influenced critical health care issues such as telehealth, physician payment rules, and prior authorization.

Claire’s extensive experience also includes leadership roles at the Health Industry Distributors Association (HIDA), where she spearheaded advocacy efforts for health care distributors and supply chains. Her ability to forge connections with policymakers and convey the concerns of health care providers and organizations makes her a highly respected figure in Washington, D.C.

Recognized as one of Modern Healthcare’s 2023 Top 25 Emerging Leaders, Claire’s dedication to advancing health care policy is evident in her strategic approach and tangible achievements. Her appointment reinforces HLB’s commitment to providing unparalleled client advocacy and representation.
