Professional Staff Training & Application Specialist - Los Angeles

Hooper, Lundy & Bookman a leading national healthcare law firm is seeking a Training & Application Specialist to join our Los Angeles office. This role is part of our forward-thinking IT Department, which plays a vital role in advancing the firm through technology and user-focused solutions.  With a strong commitment to operational excellence and digital innovation, we are looking for a tech-savvy, detail-oriented professional who will lead user training initiatives, optimize application adoption, and collaborate across departments to enhance productivity and client service through technology.

Job Overview:

The Training & Application Specialist will report directly to the Chief Information Officer.  This full-time exempt role is responsible for delivering high-impact training to attorneys and staff using a variety of instructional methods, including group demonstration, e-learning, and one-on-one sessions.  The ideal candidate will have advanced expertise in Microsoft applications, legal software, and Microsoft Copilot, with skill in AI prompting.  Familiarity in eDiscovery tools considered a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct training sessions on Microsoft Office Suite, legal applications, Microsoft Copilot, and AI prompting best practices.
  • Deliver comprehensive new hire training programs tailored to legal professionals.
  • Create, revise, and maintain training materials and documentation.
  • Provide expert-level application support, including troubleshooting and technical assistance.
  • Respond promptly to user inquiries and resolve software-related issues.
  • Collaborate with legal teams to ensure training aligns with organizational goals.

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of related experience in a professional services environment, preference given to those with prior law firm experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in education or training & development strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Microsoft Copilot.
  • Experience with AI prompting techniques and training others to use AI tools effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of legal software platforms (e.g., document management, timekeeping, case management).
  • Familiarity with eDiscovery tools is a plus.
  • Experience in instructional design and training delivery.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

The salary range for this position is up to $125k annually for the qualified candidate. Hooper, Lundy & Bookman, P.C. offers a comprehensive benefits package as well as discretionary bonuses.
