The last week has been unbelievably difficult for the greater Los Angeles community. With mounting losses of life, property, and community, we are heartbroken by the suffering resulting from the devastating fires. Everyone has been impacted in a significant way, including our colleagues, their families, and our clients.
Our firm was founded in Los Angeles and has been connected to the community since 1987. Many of us (myself included) are from Los Angeles and have roots that extend far and deep.
We are committed to doing what we can as a firm to support those in need in Los Angeles. In the coming days, we plan to contribute to the following organizations.
- California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery Fund. Contributions will go toward helping the most impacted and vulnerable Los Angeles residents, who can be overlooked in traditional relief efforts.
- American Red Cross. The Red Cross works closely with its partners to provide safe shelter, food, emotional support, and other critical services to those in need, including “California Wildfires” in the “I want to support” section.
- Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation. Proceeds from this foundation will equip firefighters with tools and supplies to contain fires.
Please consider supporting them as well.
Finally, the below organization is doing amazing work to provide assistance across the community:
Mutual Aid LA Network (MALAN), a connector and information hub for mutual aid efforts, people, and resources across Los Angeles, has a spreadsheet of resources by location, aid type, and volunteer opportunities.
Thanks, and take care, everyone, especially our HLB family in Los Angeles and Southern California.
