Transforming Medi-Cal to Reduce Health Disparities
Women in Healthcare of Greater Los Angeles (WIH-GLA), together with the Health Law Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA) and ACHE of Southern California, are pleased to present a February panel on CalAIM and its role in Transforming Medi-Cal To Reduce Health Disparities.
In January 2022, California launched the first reforms under its “California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM)” plan – a long-term health equity-focused commitment to transform and strengthen Medi-Cal through a more coordinated and whole-person centered approach to support the health and wellbeing of nearly one-third of California’s population, including those experiencing homelessness. Drawing on the expertise and practical knowledge of panelists representing various stakeholder groups, our panel will provide an introduction to CalAIM, including its origins and goals, and engage in conversation about how the Enhanced Care Management and Community Support elements of CalAIM will help to address social determinants of health and reduce health disparities impacting the most vulnerable among us.
