“I feel extremely fortunate to be at a firm that shares the same enthusiasm and passion for health care work as I do. It is a privilege to be able to help providers serve their patients and work on matters that directly impact how they do so.”

With a background in the business of health care that predates her legal career, Maydha Vinson brings a disciplined and practical perspective to her work advising providers on complex regulatory and reimbursement matters. She focuses her practice on administrative litigation, writ proceedings, and appellate challenges to state and federal agency action.

Maydha assists providers with disputes that directly affect their operations and reimbursement. Her work includes writs and appeals contesting Medi-Cal and Medicare cost reporting and payment practices. She also supports clients in appeals challenging agency action before administrative tribunals, Superior Court, and the California Court of Appeal. Her practice also includes managed care reimbursement issues, contract review, and disputes involving prompt payment and plan oversight requirements.

Maydha’s experience extends across the broader regulatory landscape. She has supported clients on matters involving facility licensing, antitrust analysis, compliance obligations, cost reporting requirements, and federal grant programs such as the Provider Relief Fund. She also assists with changes of ownership, Medicaid and Medicare enrollment questions, and reimbursement issues arising from state and federal oversight structures.

Her health care experience began long before entering the legal profession. She managed the clinical team at a health care consulting company assisting facilities with denials of clinical care. She worked extensively on coding, revenue cycle management, audits, and operational efficiency. Her collaboration with health care attorneys during that period led directly to her decision to attend law school and focus her practice exclusively on health law.

During law school, she served as a law clerk to the general counsel at Michigan Medicine and conducted research on the development of Artificial Intelligence in health care. She co-wrote the textbook chapter “Legal Processes Required to Implement AI in Healthcare” published in 2025.
