Health Care Transactional Associate – California

We are seeking one or two junior or mid-level associates to join our health care transactional team, which represents some of the most sophisticated clients in the health care industry. Many of our team members work primarily from remote locations, and there is no requirement for regular in-office attendance. Candidates, however, should be licensed in California and located in or near Los Angeles, San Francisco, or San Diego. Our busy and growing practice serves the business and regulatory needs of health care providers and suppliers, including large health systems, private and publicly traded post-acute care providers, physicians and medical groups and emerging companies such as those providing digital health services across the continuum of care. In addition to offering meaningful and substantive work focused on advancing health care delivery, advocating for health policy reform, and improving patient outcomes, we offer our associates unparalleled support in their development of substantive expertise in health law. Ideal candidates will demonstrate an ability to (i) communicate effectively with clients and provide clear, concise written legal analysis; (ii) develop a strong understanding of our clients’ business operations, objectives and strategic goals; (iii) provide creative, practical and actionable legal advice and (iv) work collaboratively with other team members, including colleagues who specialize in fraud and abuse investigations, licensing and certification and reimbursement litigation. Prior experience as a health care transactional attorney is not required, but candidates should have level-appropriate experience with complex regulatory regimes or significant transactions.

Regulatory Associate – California

Hooper, Lundy & Bookman, P.C., a leading national healthcare law firm, is looking for a regulatory associate with 1-4 years of experience to join its Los Angeles, San Francisco, or San Diego office.  The position will primarily focus on provider reimbursement issues, Medicare and Medicaid appeals, and audits and internal investigations and will generally support the firm’s robust and sophisticated regulatory and reimbursement practices.  The ideal candidate will have outstanding academic credentials and superior writing, advocacy and communication skills, a strong interest in health law and policy, and the ability to handle multiple deadlines and collaborate effectively with attorneys across different offices.   Candidates with judicial clerkship experience or other relevant government service are particularly solicited.  This is a unique opportunity to have an active role on interesting, challenging cases and work at a specialized firm in consistently evolving areas of the law, handling a wide variety of matters in support of vital health care providers.  The firm offers flexibility regarding remote work arrangements.

Partner/Counsel – Washington, D.C.

Hooper, Lundy & Bookman represents health care providers and suppliers in all 50 states. We are expanding our east coast regulatory practice and are looking for one or more Medicare reimbursement lawyers for our Washington, D.C. office with experience representing providers in court and before administrative tribunals including the Provider Reimbursement Review Board, HHS Departmental Appeals Board, Medicare Appeals Council, ALJs, etc. Lateral partner with business is preferred but will also consider partners/counsel/senior associates with at least five years of directly relevant experience and interest in developing own clients.
