Diversity, Equity& inclusion
HLB commits significant time and resources to our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion pledge. Some of our efforts and the organizations we have sponsored or with which we have affiliated include:
• Leadership Counsel for Legal Diversity.
• Sponsor and presenter for the HBCU National Pre-Law Summit Conference.
• Host and sponsor of Women in Government Relations (WGR) Health & Social Policies Task Force events, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Summit and Committee, and participation in the mentorship program.
• Sponsor of the Public Leadership Education Network (PLEN) 2021 Mentor Awards, a national organization preparing college women for leadership in the public policy arena.
• Annual sponsorships of Women in Health Administration of Southern California (WHA) and Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles.
• Sponsor of association events, including annual galas of Women in Health Administration of Southern California and the Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association.
• Organizer, co-host and/or sponsor of other diversity-focused events with organizations (both national and local) such as the California Association of Healthcare Leaders, the American College of Healthcare Executives, the National Association of Health Services Executives, Women in Healthcare, Women in Health Administration of Southern California, the Asian Health Care Leaders Association, the National Association of Latino Healthcare Executives, the Rainbow Healthcare Leaders Association and Women Health Care Executives, featuring discussions by respected and diverse health care industry leaders.
• Signatory to National Asian Pacific American Bar Association’s (NAPABA) “Stand Against Hate” pledge, and commitments through the Leadership Council for Legal Diversity Pledge, the Los Angeles County Bar Association Diversity in the Law Pledge and the San Diego County Bar Association Diversity Pledge.
• Participation in law school diversity and inclusion receptions.
• Donations to organizations in our local communities that share our commitment to health equity and racial justice.
