Heather Romero represents health care providers and other industry clients nationwide in complex civil litigation and government investigations. With substantial experience across both disciplines, Heather helps clients navigate high-stakes disputes, enforcement matters, and regulatory challenges by developing strategies that protect their immediate interests while accounting for broader legal and business consequences.

In her litigation practice, Heather represents both plaintiffs and defendants in complex health care and commercial disputes in state and federal courts across the country, including matters involving reimbursement, contractual disputes, fraud and abuse, and other regulatory issues. She has handled matters throughout the litigation lifecycle, from early case assessment and strategy through pleadings, complex discovery, dispositive motions, expert and witness preparation, and pretrial proceedings. Heather brings a pragmatic approach to litigation, positioning matters for favorable resolution while preparing each case to proceed toward trial when necessary.

Heather also represents clients facing government investigations, enforcement actions, audits, and other regulatory scrutiny. Her experience includes matters involving the False Claims Act, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and corresponding state laws. She guides clients through all stages of an investigation, including responding to subpoenas and other government demands, developing the factual record, assessing legal and business risks, and advocating for clients through written submissions and presentations to government authorities.
