“I want clients to feel like I’m the person they can count on to get them the answers they need, knowing that I genuinely care about their concerns and am committed to their success. “

Whether checking every box in a compliance, business, or transactional matter or checking in with a client, Sunaya Padmanabhan brings a combination of enthusiasm, engagement, and effectiveness that has made her a trusted and reliable resource for clients and colleagues alike. Focusing her practice on corporate and regulatory issues, Sunaya provides responsive representation that accounts for the smallest details as well as the larger strategic picture.

Sunaya’s passion for healthcare law and ability to distill complexity into clear, actionable guidance is a product not only of her substantive experience and knowledge but also of her background as an educator for students with learning disabilities prior to starting her legal career. Before joining Hooper, Lundy & Bookman, she honed her regulatory, business, and transactional talents at a San Francisco law firm where she worked on a wide range of matters, including guiding shareholders and incoming purchasers through internal ownership transitions, advising clients on various regulatory and licensing issues, and serving as in-house counsel for a media data company.

A magna cum laude graduate of the University of California, San Diego, Sunaya earned her law degree from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, where she served as editor-in-chief of the Journal of Law and Social Policy. Her long-standing passion for improving access to health care, especially for the most vulnerable, underscores her compliance and business representation that helps providers and other clients better serve their patients while caring for their bottom lines.
