Robert W. Lundy, Jr.

Founding Partner

Robert W. Lundy, together with Patric Hooper and Lloyd Bookman, formed the national health care law firm of Hooper, Lundy & Bookman, P.C. in 1987. As the firm’s Chairman of the Board and former Managing Partner, Bob has guided Hooper, Lundy & Bookman to its current position as the largest law firm in the country dedicated solely to the representation of health care providers and suppliers.

Bob represents the health care industry in business transactions, including joint ventures, private placements, structuring of physician organizations, financings, acquisitions, mergers, integrated delivery systems, accountable care organizations and licensing and certification matters.  He has overseen many of the major health care transactions in California and other states, including the formation of the largest health care system in the State of Hawaii, the sale of more than twenty acute care hospitals in California, formation of a countywide orthopedic joint venture, establishment of the largest physician practice management organization in California, and the sale of the largest home health agency in the Western United States.

Chambers USA has ranked Bob as an Eminent practitioner who is “held in high regard for his longstanding industry expertise. He has extensive experience advising clients on a range of transactions, including joint ventures, acquisitions and financings. He is also noted for his licensing capabilities.” One client said, “There are not enough words to describe what a powerhouse attorney Robert Lundy is. He is also extremely thoughtful and patient even when working on extremely tough matters.” Another client stated, “Robert Lundy is not only an excellent attorney but an extremely considerate person. He truly cares about his clients.” Other sources said he is: “Legendary, a great lawyer and a go-to for major matters;” and, “He is a class act.”
